Instructional Coaching and Teacher Leadership Consortium

Audience: K-12 Instructional Coaches, Literacy Coaches, Curriculum Leaders, Teacher Leaders

Description: As a member of this consortium, you will have opportunities to collaborate with other coaches and teacher leaders on topics in education relevant to leadership and coaching in the classroom. The cohort will meet 5 times over the course of the 2025-2026 school year. The BOCES Coordinator will set an initial agenda, but the cohort will set subsequent agendas and the groups' needs and interests will shape the meeting's content. Some of the research-based topics that will be included are developing relationships with teachers, identifying needs, and setting goals, exploring best practices in pedagogy, and developing PD workshops for teachers. Coaches and teacher leaders should be ready to share their expertise and experiences and be open to adding to their capacities in their role.

Additionally, research supports continuing professional development outside of the consortium to ensure the adequate amount of hours to learn and understand new or reviewed practices. Schedule a follow-up day in your district to strengthen your program resulting in the increase of student growth, learning and achievement.
